Pronouns


Subjects

Personal pronouns are words that replace the name of a person.
for example:

John is busy.

I can replace John with a personal pronoun.
I can say.

He is busy.

The subject of a sentence is the person, place, thing, or idea that is doing or being something.
Example:

She was late.

She is the subject.

The personal pronouns that can be used as subject of the sentence are :

Singular

I pronom I We use "I" to refer to the speaker or writer.The pronoun “I ” is written with an uppercase letter, even when it's not at the beginning of a sentence.

pronom you I use "you", When I am talking direct to you. We use "you" to refer to the listener or reader
he pronom he “he” is masculine and refers to a male.
she pronom she “she” is feminine and refers to a female.
it pronom it The pronoun “it” is used for an animal or a thing.

Plural

we

pronom we We use "we" to refer to different groups of people, but always including the speaker.
you pronom you "you” can refer to one person or more than one person.
they pronom they We use "they" to refer to specific groups of people, things or animals.

Examples:

“I ” is written with an uppercase letter, even when it's not at the beginning of a sentence.

where is the book I
bought ?

"you” can refer to one person or more than one person.

you are her friend


you are my children

The pronoun “it” is used for an animal or a thing.

it is the car of
my dreams

Objects

Objects are nouns or pronouns in the sentence that do not take actions but receives the action of a verb.
If a noun or a pronoun is not a subject then it must be an object.

example:
Sophia   reads     books.
The subject of this sentence is Sophia.
The action verb is reads
The object tells what she reads.
She reads books.
