Verbo ser/estar -to be - Presente simples - Português

O verbo "to be" é o verbo mais importante da língua inglesa. É difícil de utilizar porque é um verbo irregular em quase todas as suas formas. No presente do indicativo, o verbo "to be" conjuga-se da seguinte forma:

Plural
	we	are	We are intelligent.

Na língua inglesa falada, a forma contraída, que se forma com um apóstrofo, é frequentemente utilizada:

Recorde que a ordem das palavras é muito importante em inglês: sujeito + verbo + objeto.

Nas frases interrogativas, o verbo (to be) é colocado no início da frase (questões fechadas):

(Am I a student?)
(Are we students?)

Para formar uma frase negativa, basta acrescentar o advérbio (not) a seguir ao verbo:

(I am not a student.)
